The PENETRON system
Ordinary concrete carries a network of micro-cracks, pores and capillaries. PENETRON turns that network into crystal.
Typically 0.1 to 0.5 mm wide, those channels are how water travels. Crystalline technology grows insoluble needle-like crystals into the voids, so the concrete becomes impermeable from any direction — for the life of the structure.

The technology
How crystalline waterproofing works.
- 01
Untreated concrete
Micro-cracks, pores and capillaries let water enter the matrix.
- 02
Application
Mixed in at batching, or applied to the surface of existing concrete.
- 03
Chemical reaction
Active chemicals react with water, calcium hydroxide, aluminium and salts.
- 04
Crystal formation
Insoluble needle-like crystals grow into and fill the voids.
- 05
Permanent seal
Water cannot pass. The concrete is impermeable from any direction.
- 06
Self-healing
Dormant chemicals reactivate on contact with water and seal new cracks.
- Pore width sealed
- 0.1 – 0.5 mm
- Cracks self-healed up to
- 0.5 mm
- Verified in the field
- Microscopic analysis of cores from Changi Airport Terminal 3 retaining walls confirmed crystal growth inside the cracks.
Solutions
Four methods. Six products. One certified team.
PENETRON ADMIX
Crystalline admixture added at the batch plant, dosed at 0.8–1% of cementitious weight. Makes the full concrete section permanently waterproof from any direction.
PENETRON ADMIX LIQUID
Liquid crystalline admixture dispensed automatically at the batch plant, for high-volume, consistency-critical pours.
PENETRON ADMIX SB
Soluble-bag crystalline admixture for addition at the truck mixer where plant dosing is not practical, applied using the approved product method.
PENETRON
Brush- or spray-applied crystalline slurry for waterproofing and chemical protection of existing concrete, above and below grade.
PENECRETE MORTAR
Crystalline structural repair mortar to EN 1504 Class R4 (45 MPa) for cracks, form-tie holes, honeycombing and non-moving joints.
PENEBAR SW-45
Swellable waterstop strip for construction joints, pile heads and service penetrations. Supported by PENEPLUG and PENETRON INJECT for active leaks.
How it is added · Method 1
At the central batching plant.
The recommended way: dosed under our trained technical team.
- 01

Precise dosing at the plant
Materials are added in precise proportions, managed and carried out by the trained technical team at the central batching plant.
- 02

Transport to the project
The treated concrete is transported to the project like any other ready-mix — no membrane, no extra trade.
- 03

Pouring on site
Pouring is completed on site, with the concrete becoming waterproof from any direction.
Factory dosing with ADMIX LIQUID
- 01Verify the dose
Confirm the approved mix, product and cementitious content. Check calibrated dispensing equipment.
- 02Coordinate batch water
Follow the approved addition sequence. Include the liquid within the total batch-water calculation.
- 03Check and document
Confirm uniform mixing and fresh-concrete checks. Record dosage, batch identification and inspection results.
How it is added · Method 2
At the truck mixer, approved by the manufacturer.
For addition on site where plant dosing is not practical, in three steps.
- 01

Pre-mix in 22 litres of water
Add one bag of PENETRON ADMIX to 22 litres of water and mix mechanically for long enough to become homogeneous.
- 02

Add to the truck mixer
Add the mix to the concrete truck with the drum rotating at high speed for 10 minutes from the start of the addition.
- 03

Pouring on site
Pour the concrete on site.

Supervised on site
Present at batching and at application — not a delivery note.
- Confirms system, dosage and mix compatibility
- Supervises batching and dosing at the plant
- Supervises the drum addition on site
- Documents quality records for handover
Independent testing
Zero water penetration after seven days at seven bar.

Scope on site
Where we apply it.
Construction joints, slab-to-wall details and penetrations are treated with PENEBAR SW-45 and crystalline slurry; the section itself is dosed with ADMIX at batching.
- Raft foundations & footings
- Retaining walls & basements
- Water tanks & reservoirs
- Swimming pools
- Slabs on grade
- Industrial flooring
- Pile heads & penetrations
